Introduction​

WPC Stand-alone Python Editor (abbreviated as SAPE) is a LabVIEW-based independent Python IDE (Integrated Development Environment). It is designed specifically for WPC PYCO products, allowing users to easily write and execute Python programs.

Download and Installation​

Step 1: Download Stand-Alone Python Editor​

Please download the latest version of Stand-Alone Python Editor from the WPC official website.

Step 2: Download and Install LabVIEW Run-time Engine 2018​

Important

To run this software, you must install LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 2018 first.

Open SAPE​

  1. Unzip the downloaded file.
  2. Click WPC Stand-Alone Python Editor.exe to launch the software.

Windows Security Warning Handling​

If Windows displays a "Windows protected your PC" or "Unrecognized app" warning:

  1. Please click "More info".

Firewall Settings​

When opening for the first time, Windows Firewall may block some features.

  1. Please check "Private networks" and "Public networks".
  2. Click "Allow access".

When SAPE is opened for the first time, it will try to connect to the COM Port.
